Nearly a week on from the eventful Buenos Aires ePrix, won by DS Virgin’s Sam Bird after some defensive driving, here are some post-race stats.
It was Virgin’s third win in Formula E, but their first since a tie-up with DS.
Bird became only the second person to take a lights-flag win in Formula E, holding off Sebastien Buemi – the only other driver to win from lights to flag.
The Brit also became the second driver to have more than two Formula E wins to his name, having taken his third win. Buemi has five wins in 15 ePrixs.
However, third-placed man Lucas di Grassi picked up his tenth podium in Formula E out of 15 races, meaning he’s finished on the podium in 66.67% of his Formula E’s races. He also has 13 points finishes out of a possible 15, an 86.67% points finish rate.
Jerome d’Ambrosio picked up fastest lap in the Buenos Aires ePrix, stopping Buemi’s run of three consecutive fastest laps.
D’Ambrosio’s fastest lap of 1:10.285 is also the lap record of the Puerto Madero Street Circuit, beating Bird’s time of 1:11.540 in the first season.
