Another day, another late teammate comparison from 2015! Force India had their best ever F1 season by finishing fifth in the Constructors’ Championship, despite scoring fewer points than in 2014.
Position | Driver | Wins | Podiums | Poles | Fastest Laps | Points |
9 | Sergio Perez | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 78 |
10 | Nico Hulkenberg | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 58 |
Just one podium for Force India in 2015 and it went to Sergio Perez in Russia, Nico Hulkenberg’s best result was only sixth.
Driver | Race Finish | Started Ahead | Qualified Ahead | Faster Race Lap |
Sergio Perez | 6 | 8 | 8 | 10 |
Nico Hulkenberg | 7 | 11 | 11 | 7 |
Once you put them head to head Hulkenberg comes out ahead in all but the faster laps. The race finish comparison is pretty close but in qualifying Hulkenberg is just ahead.
Driver | Out of Q1 | Out of Q2 | Into Q3 |
Sergio Perez | 2 | 8 | 9 |
Nico Hulkenberg | 2 | 7 | 10 |
Not much between the two drivers here either, one more Q3 for Hulkenberg and that is it, a very well matched pair of drivers.
Driver | Best Finish | 2nd Best Finish | 3rd Best Finish | 4th Best Finish |
Sergio Perez | 3 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
Nico Hulkenberg | 6 | 6 | 6 | 7 |
Here’s where the stats get a bit different and interesting, Perez’s best four finishes are all higher than Hulkenberg’s best finish all season, but Hulkenberg still finished ahead in more races than Perez did.
Driver | Average Qualifying | Average Finish | Top 10s | Retirements |
Sergio Perez | 10.68 | 8.56 | 12 | 1 |
Nico Hulkenberg | 10.05 | 8.77 | 9 | 5 |
Again very close, the average qualifying and average finish for both drivers are incredibly close. Perez has a few more points’ finishes, but Hulkenberg had the disadvantage of more retirements, and was unable to start the Belgian GP due to PU issues.
