A much better season for Sauber this time round, from no points and tenth in 2014 to 36 points and eighth in 2015. I think everybody knows which of the two drivers was better in 2015, but I’ll compare the data anyway!
Position | Driver | Wins | Podiums | Poles | Fastest Laps | Points |
13 | Felipe Nasr | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 27 |
18 | Marcus Ericsson | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 9 |
No wins, podiums, poles or fastest laps for Sauber, but Nasr did score three times the points of Ericsson, pretty one sided so far.
Driver | Race Finish | Started Ahead | Qualified Ahead | Faster Race Lap |
Felipe Nasr | 8 | 10 | 10 | 7 |
Marcus Ericsson | 6 | 9 | 9 | 10 |
Here is where it starts to get a little more interesting, qualifying is as close to 50/50 as possible, Nasr has finished more races ahead (just about) but Ericsson takes the least important stat here with the most faster race laps.
Driver | Out of Q1 | Out of Q2 | Into Q3 |
Felipe Nasr | 9 | 8 | 2 |
Marcus Ericsson | 9 | 7 | 3 |
Pretty even again but Ericsson has made Q3 once more than Nasr.
Driver | Average Qualifying | Average Finish | Top 10s | Retirements |
Felipe Nasr | 14.21 | 11.35 | 6 | 1 |
Marcus Ericsson | 14.53 | 12.31 | 5 | 3 |
Qualifying really was tight between the two Sauber drivers, but Nasr was clearly ahead in the races, despite it being his rookie year and Ericsson’s second.
