2019 Chinese GP Post-Race Stats

China wasn’t the best race, but here are some stats of the 1000th world championship race.

Second win of the season for Lewis Hamilton

First time Hamilton has led the championship in 2019, with Valtteri Bottas having led after the first two races

Hamilton’s 75th race win and his 54th for Mercedes

Seventh pole for Bottas

First podium of the season for Vettel

90th race win for Mercedes and their third 1-2 finish of the season

After the three races so far none of them have been won from pole position yet, two were won from second on the grid and one from third

Alexander Albon gained the most places in the race, starting in the pit lane after he was unable to compete in qualifying due to a late FP3 crash, finishing in tenth

Daniil Kvyat was given two penalty points for his collision with the McLarens on the first lap

The Williams drivers both had their best qualifying, 17th and 18th, as Albon and Giovinazzi failed to set laptimes in qualifying

There were only two classified retirements from the race, Nico Hulkenberg and Daniil Kvyat

Lando Norris also failed to finish the race, but completed enough of it to be classified as having finished

Daniel Ricciardo scored his first points finish of the year, and his first actual race finish
