The weekend hasn’t gone particularly smoothly so far in F1, but hopefully, the rest of the weekend will be smoother.

China wasn’t the best race, but here are some stats of the 1000th world championship race.

The Chinese GP stats are a little later than planned, and it’s 4am on Saturday morning during FP3, so hopefully nothing is majorly wrong…

A huge deal is being made ahead of the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix. However, the labelling of it being ‘1000th Formula 1 race’, ‘1000th grand prix’ or the ‘1000th F1 grand prix’ are simply all false. Is this being completely pedantic? Maybe. But the complex history of F1 racing and grand prix racing (which are two different things) makes it incredibly difficult to work out just how many F1 races there have been.

It’s been a while since I’ve done any post-race stats, so I’m bringing them back, and attempting to get at least one post up on the website every week during the F1 season.

Vettel has won the last two Bahrain GPs and has the record number of driver wins there, can he keep the streak going or will Mercedes put a stop to it?

Once again, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes are those on top of the world. It has been clear that team and driver were the differentiators this year, as reliability favoured championship rivals Ferrari and the cars both had convincing attributes over one another. The championships are both over and won, all that’s left to race for now is pride or the odd championship position.

The Drivers’ Championship may be over, but the Constructors’ Championship can still be won at the Brazilian GP
