Post-race Statistics of the Monaco GP

As mentioned a few times on Twitter I am having internet problems which is why this wasn’t done yesterday. Anyway, the 60th F1 Monaco GP is over and Mercedes have finally converted a pole position into a win. Nico Rosberg achieved his third consecutive pole position, the last person to do so in a Mercedes was Juan Manuel Fangio in 1954 on the way to his second Drivers’ Championship.

Pre-race Statistics of the Monaco GP

The Monaco GP is one of the oldest races in the world that is still going today. The first race was held back in 1929 and after 100 laps it was won by British-French driver William Grover-Williams in his Bugatti. Top 10 F1 Drivers by Stats Part 1

You might remember that last year BBC did a lot of articles about F1’s greatest drivers, personally I disagreed with the list so I’m doing my own. As I am the F1StatMan the top 10 drivers will be based only by their stats. To save myself some time, and stop my indecisiveness, I’ve used a formula to rank them all for me. The formula isn’t perfect and I know that a lot of people will disagree with some placements but it’s based on stats and stats alone. It slightly favours the modern drivers with more races though I have done what I can do even it out a little.

Post-race Statistics of the Spanish GP

Fans seem to be split over the Spanish GP earlier, seen some say it was dull and some say it was fantastic. Pit stops were another hot topic today with a massive 77 tyre changes, possibly the most of any dry race. Mercedes qualified 1-2 for the first time since 1955 but in the race faded away and finished sixth and 12th, not what they would have wanted.

Pre-race Statistics of the Spanish GP

At last, after a bit of a break F1 is back and for the first time this season the race is in Europe! The Spanish GP is at the Circuit de Catalunya for the 23rd time. The 4.655km circuit has 16 corners with a race distance of 307.230km after 66 laps.
