I should really have written this yesterday, but got distracted by the football! Anyway, it’s the Canadian GP weekend and the 35th F1 race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

The Monaco GP is the most unique race on the calendar, it has the shortest track, the slowest speed and is the only exception to the 305km race distance rule.

Lotus! The black and gold team once known as Toleman, who competed in the 80s with a black and gold team named Lotus. But on a more serious note, Lotus were the only team that used three drivers all season and only did so because of Grosjean's ban following the Belgian Grand Prix. They finished 4th in the Constructors' with over twice the points of Mercedes in 5th but still some way from McLaren.

As it is the Finnish Independence Day today what better than some stats on all the Finns in F1, from Leo Kinnunen to Heikki Kovalainen. Eight Finns have entered an F1 race, with all but one, Mikko Kozarowitzky, starting at least once race.

So who deserves the title? Alonso? Vettel? Karthikeyan? Or just whoever finishes with the most points. There are two races left, fifty points up for grabs and just two drivers able to win. Four drivers have been leading the Drivers' Championship at some point in the season, Alonso has led for 10 races, Vettel for 5, Hamilton for 2 and Jenson Button just 1.
