2019 Japanese GP Key Stats

It’s been a while since I’ve done any stats, but they are back! The Japanese GP is always one of my favourites.

Track Stats:

5.807km long lap

53 lap race

307.771km total race distance

31st GP at Suzuka

35th Japanese GP

15 wins from pole (50%)

26 wins from the front row (86.7%)

15 different drivers have won the race at Suzuka

Driver/Team Stats:

McLaren and Ferrari are tied for most wins at Suzuka with seven each

Mercedes have won five races at Suzuka, which are also the last five races at Suzuka

Schumacher has the most wins at the track with six, but Hamilton is just behind with five

Both Mercedes drivers are the only drivers that have reached Q3 at every race this year

Magnussen will make his 99th race entry

Mercedes could win their 99th race

Only three current F1 drivers have won the Japanese GP

Silly Stats:

You would need 3396 Kamui Kobayashis to lap around the Suzuka Circuit once. 468 of him would be the length of the main straight and another 702 for the back straight.

If you were to place Makizushi sushi rolls around the Japanese GP circuit you could cover the entire track surface with 19,356,667 of them.
