Pre-race stats

The second triple-header of the 2020 season is here, the British GP at Silverstone, before next weekend travelling all the way to Silverstone for the 70th Anniversary GP.

The break has been far longer than expected, but at last the season is starting. The calendar may still change somewhat during the year, but we start off with Austria, and then go all the way to Austria.

Formula One is back for another year, there were due to be a record 22 races in the 2020 season, that figure looks likely to change but Australia is at least going ahead as planned.

The final race of the season is upon us, the Abu Dhabi GP, and in fact it is the final race of the decade as well. Hopefully, it will be a good one.

Both championships are over, but pride can still be won, and the Brazilian GP is a great one to win.

It’s been a while since I’ve done any stats, but they are back! The Japanese GP is always one of my favourites.

Silverstone is the home of British motorsport, and has just extended its F1 contract for another five years.

The Red Bull Ring is, believe it or not, owned by Red Bull, which they won for the first time last season. Given the dominance of Mercedes this year, I would be very, very surprised if they won their home race again.

The steak of 1-2s for Mercedes continues, five from five so far in 2019, matching the current record for consecutive 1-2 finishes.
